Review on Prepworks Progressive Collapsible Salad Spinner by Lyon Forrest

Revainrating 4 out of 5

from 2014 to 2021 and still valid!

I bought this product in 2014 and it is now 2/2021. I still have the product and it still works. I've used it like a regular colander to wash, clean and dry veggies, herbs, berries and even grapes! I would say I usually use it 1-2 times a week but during harvest time (I have my own garden) I will use it multiple times when preparing food to freeze. I am very happy with how much water it removes from food. For best results, I recommend spinning once, throwing the green with your hands, and then spinning again. The rotation mechanism still works perfectly. I broke part of the inner screen but that's just a small part at the top and doesn't bother it at all. This only happened in 2020 and was due to being too rough with my laundry. My only downside (and a mild one considering all the positives) is that cleaning all the holes is a bit of a hassle. I just use a thin washcloth. Another note: you should expect the colander's white color to discolour over the years. I also had a salad spinner that had a drawstring. The tow rope I had had more capacity which I liked but ended up giving it away as I liked this one better and didn't need two.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • No color needed
