So many times I had to wash these two yarn and wooden toys intensively with an extra rinse to get rid of the chemical smell. First wash of Speed Queen with regular detergent - the chemical smell was still strong and I trimmed the excess yarn which smelled the most. If you are looking to replace the one you bought a while ago this (#62806) is NOT the same. The old ones have 2 nodes in between, but the newer versions only have ONE node. These new versions of WAAAAA are shorter than the original (probably to save money). Notice the double knots on the original versus the single knot design. I used to only buy them from petsmart, but I was tempted by the price of this one. I decided to try this. It is definitely smaller than my petsmart in both length and width. I actually bought this for my little rat and it's exactly what I was looking for! He loves to play and run and oh my god he was dying to try!
