Too much moisture in 3D printing consumables

The filament was well packed in a vacuum bag which also contained a bag of desiccant. I was expecting to be able to pop it onto the spool holder and get decent prints right away. Unfortunately it isn't. The photos accompanying this review are of my first 3 prints using this thread. In the first, the two cubes on the left are the original flow calibration prints; the far left is measured as 15% extruded, and the one in the middle has been "calibrated" accordingly. However, the surface texture…

Great filament if you have it, but slow

TLDR; 230c hotend, 50c bed, all speeds 20mm/s (except when not printing), retract 1.6, flow rate 115% I'm printing with a stock Ender 3 Pro. I finished 1 print at 35mm/s, 215 hot end, 65 table retract at 1.6. My first print didn't have good layer adhesion. They separated when the part was bent. Then, on subsequent prints, the filament would get stuck in the feed mechanism halfway through the print. After some fiddling, I realized that sticking can be corrected by lowering the speed to 20mm/s. I

Pros
  • Multiple competitors
Cons
  • unreliable

The most important thing to know is that this is more of a semi-flexible packaging. This means it feels like hard rubber and doesn't flex much (also depends on what filler you use). This can be for or against, depending on the intended use. I have an Ender 3 with Direct Drive mod. EDIT 2: I've been printing with this filament for quite some time and I'm blown away by the quality of my prints. Layers look perfect, prints are durable and beautiful. I just had to log into my Cura profile. I get…
