I bought this pestle to grind eggshells and vitamins for cat and dog food. I cook them food, they are all on a special diet. This thing is heavy but very durable and beautiful. It gets the job done and even looks good on the shelf. Good quality for the price.

You'll be amazed at how heavy and big this thing is. I think this is enough to make a small batch of guacamole. The inside has a rough texture that really helps with grinding/blending herbs and spices. It even comes with a silicone pestle handle. Overall it looks like a really high quality product.

I love how well made this set is. It is definitely durable and looks like it could be used for years to come. I've used it several times and it works great. The only thing that surprised me, and this may be common as this is my first time buying a mortar and pestle, is that it requires seasoning before use. Just keep that in mind when purchasing.

I have never owned a full size M&P until now because I have never found one that I really liked. This set is heavy! The mortar is wide enough for intense grinding and deep enough so ingredients don't spill over. The pestle is perfect for both my hands and the mortar. This works better than a blender or food processor for "medium" textures and for small batches. I like that I can control the grind size. So the instrument is perfect and BEAUTIFUL.

So far I am definitely satisfied with this product. It feels very thick and strong which is an absolute must for a mortar and pestle set. I haven't used it yet because I need to heal it first, but I'm looking forward to using it. I'll update this as soon as I use it. I bought this mortar for classes and also from teenagers who don't always work with it with the utmost care (it's a laboratory so we used it to grind a lot of fragile Materials). In short, many took turns beating up this piece and it survived admirably without the slightest crack or chip. The fact that he can do this and still be intact in the same lab after a visit to such hell leaves me no choice but to wholeheartedly support his quality.

It was better than I hoped. It's heavy and solid! It's perfect for grinding peppers/spices etc. I really appreciate the instruction manual that comes with it which explains how to peel, chop and season it properly. What was there was very helpful. I also appreciate the peel and paste pad that can be placed on the underside of this tool to prevent it from scratching the countertop when using this tool. This is a beautiful product with good capacity, a spectacular bowl shape and a nice thick pestle. I was able to grind a tablespoon of black peppercorns into a fine powder and they didn't fly out of the bowl in about a minute. The included non-slip bottom pad is perfect and it's great that they provided an extra one. The included garlic peeler works too. Simply cut off the small end of the stem from the clove first. The accompanying brochure clearly explains the seasoning and cleaning processes.
