Shorter than expected

The quality is good but I bought the small one for my 9 year old daughter based on the measurements given and it fits her leg perfectly but the sock only goes halfway up her calf. Typically, softball socks reach to the knee. Also, navy blue is very dark - barely noticeable, like navy blue against something black.
