🔍 2-Pack Pro Tec Extended Life Filters for Humidifiers Review

Bought these replacement filters for the Vicks Cool Moisture humidifier. The original filter that came with the humidifier lasted several months. in just a week. We have followed all cleaning and maintenance instructions for both the humidifier and filters.

Due to the HUGE "2" in the top right corner of the box I thought I was getting 2 filters in each box, 4 total. Instead, each box only has 1 filter each, 2 total The little yellow bar below says it contains 1 filter, but I didn't even see it on my phone. These filters work just as well as the original filters that came with my Vicks Cool Mist humidifier. I gave it 4 stars because of the misleading packaging.

Update: after the first two nights the smell is gone and the filter has 'shrunk' to fit better. Not quite sure. It does the job because my hygrometer gains weight. But the "new smell" (?) is just awful! I hope it goes away after a few uses. It's also a bit big for Vicks V3100. I had to squeeze it to fit the base but now the tank doesn't sit properly on the base which makes me nervous. Another review cut them in half, which I'll try but still hope the horrible chemical smell goes away!

These are the ONLY FILTERS I WORK IN MY VICKS HUMIDIFIER that don't brown or wrinkle. They are enough for 2 good months. I have found that before turning on you keep the backside wet (with water from the reservoir hole) to re-wet it, but only a small amount so as not to overflow the bottom of the holding area where the filter sits. AND I DON'T ROTATE THIS FILTER. I DID WITH THE LATEST FILTER but this caused the metal inside to crack as it is a tight fitting filter. sit and go. Hope that helps…

I have a Honeywell humidifier and always put a hygrometer on it to see how much moisture is coming out of the top of the machine. With the OEM wick I got 25% max, but with this wick I get even 55-65%. It's amazing how changing the wick can more than double the performance of a humidifier! If you're looking for the same filters that come with the Honeywell HCM350 humidifier, I believe Honeywell are incorporating them into new devices. If not I would be surprised because they look and function exactly the same, contain the same foil reinforcement and antimicrobial treatment. Most conventional replacement filters (at least at Revain) do NOT include these features - they are just paper wicks and cost more than these Pro Tec filters for some reason!
