Progressive Dynamics PD9160AV Inteli Power Converter Review

Replaces the exact original in our 2006 motorhome. Significantly cheaper than auto parts stores. The fact is that this one was equipped with a plug for 110 sockets, and the original was connected directly to the switch box. We had to cut the connector off and plug it in straight away, great that the wires were the same color on both the old and new.

Converter failed in our RV during our summer trip. Revain trusted me to ship a replacement transducer direct to our campsite. Choose the exact same converter model as the original lasted 13 years! It took a cell phone repairman 20 minutes to install and we're back in business! I look forward to another 13 years in this period.

This unit completely solved the 12v conversion and bus battery charging problems that had plagued us for months. I had an old 55 amp 9000 that was falling apart. It's a 1996 Fleetwood, so it's understandable. We bought this much more sophisticated converter plus master unit for less than buying the 9200 version with the master built in. It works amazingly well and installation was very easy.

This replaces the 9145 which lasted 15 years! I have no complaints. I run it with an optional charge master and it will keep a couple of 6v golf cart batteries I bundled fully charged and quickly recharged. The charge assistant maintains the correct charge level, so I don't have to keep adding water. My converter was naughty and I searched and read everything I could find to make sure I found the best product. I found this! and it's a great product and it does exactly what it does. There's a simple reason I'm not giving this 5 stars, and that's because I don't think the manufacturer makes it clear that this device doesn't have an integrated Total Charge Management System (TCMS). I really like this converter/charger which I use as part of an uninterruptible power supply and line conditioner for my home theater equipment (except amp). Not sure if the Revain product or service is any worse. I bought this unit for my RV. I bought a new set of batteries for 100.00 pieces. The first indication of a problem was the rotten egg smell you get when the sulfuric acid boils in your batteries. Long story short, this 12V charger was outputting over 20V and about 14V low. 14 must be greater than the high level.
