Review on Progressive Dynamics PD9160AV Inteli Power Converter by Brian Weese

I really like this converter/charger which I use as part of an uninterruptible power supply and line conditioner for my home theater equipment (except amp). A few weeks ago I bought a cheaper unit from a competitor and hooked it up to an AGM battery and a 120V pure sine wave inverter. When the previous unit turned on the voltage rose above 15V causing the inverter to go in switched protection mode and shed the load. And that previous device's fan ran 75% of the time, even with a load of just 200W or less, and we could hear it everywhere. So I gave up on this device and bought this one. This machine is quiet, has strong heatsinks on the outside, and when the fan kicks in, it's not running at full speed. It also doesn't spike its DC output when switched on and quickly reaches the reasonable output voltage of 13.2V. A very good device!
