I'm tired of cute looking pepper mills. Grind. I was surprised to find a pepper mill with a side hatch for easy filling. I bought 3. One for me and 2 for the family. I have never used a more practical pepper mill! Even if you're in the middle of cranking and you run out, just open the side door and put in new peppercorns, keep cranking! I've had this grinder for about 6 months, it never grinds well - the peppercorns get stuck inside and don't find their way to the grinder easily. I bought these because I couldn't bring myself to spend [$$$] to get the "real" coffee grinder that these mimic. I recently ordered two of these pepper mills based on the experience of using them in my kitchen not too long ago. One of my fellow chefs has one and uses it to grind up peppers at the very last moment, usually when the food is about to go into the pan!
