Followed instructions exactly and got popcorn out of my 700 watt microwave in 3 minutes 15 seconds. The whole house smells like burnt popcorn and the product is inedible. Update: This may have permanently ruined my microwave. Two days later, I alternated baking soda and white vinegar in the microwave. It also smells awful.

Microwave popcorn works great! You don't need oil to make granola, just add butter or something else as a topping. Also very easy to clean. I took the reviewer's advice and microwaved the popper for about 30 seconds before adding the popcorn. There are many on the market and they all look the same and probably are; I bought this one because it was the cheapest. I actually bought a second one for our summer house because I was so happy with it! Highly recommended!

I have a 700 watt microwave oven (low power). When I first used it, I set the recommended number of cores to 3 minutes. 3 minutes was within the recommended instructions and it burned out completely. The fire alarm almost went off. I washed it twice, the smell didn't come out. The lid is brown. Tried fewer kernels (1/8 cup) and less time (2.5 minutes) and ended up with a handful of popcorn and lots of unpopped kernels. Tried the same thing again and it blew. I threw all the crap in the trash.

I love this popcorn maker! I'm on a diet trying to eat healthier so I sometimes make popcorn with convection popcorn (no fat) but I hate taking it out and adjusting it and cleaning and putting it away after use. Love our Proper, great idea. beautiful results. I've also tried both 6oz and 8oz and although larger packets come out on top you won't miss out on a delicious overboard popcorn snack. Do not attempt to reopen unopened kernels as this will burn your real popper and leave a horrible burnt smell. Phew, and "yes" experience speaks loud and true. Enjoy this wonderful product.

This replaced a very old Orville Redenbacher Presto Popper that used counter paper discs and a separate nozzle with a metal plate.
