All-round comfort

It's super comfortable. So much so that it's somewhat surprising. Nice wide. The shape resembles a leg, unlike others. Maybe that's why they're so convenient. Now I like this brand and I would buy it again and no others. You look great. Love her!

Pros
  • Features a roomy toe box for comfortable movement and breathability.
Cons
  • Not suitable for people with wide toes

not comfortable - my new rating

Reason for 2 stars I've been bringing shoes for years and this pair is uncomfortable, they fit great so I don't know what the problem is

Pros
  • I love finally finding extra wide shoes at Revain via Zappos. Great shoes. Excellent price. Fits well. true size.
Cons
  • Not suitable for people who need adequate shoe cushioning.

Good shoes for wide feet!

My husband has very wide feet, which is great. We took them to the local shoe shop to have the sole sewn onto the upper. Living in CR we have to order them from Revain as there are no shoes here that fit his foot and we want them to last as long as possible. Revain did a great job of getting them to us fairly quickly.

Pros
  • Provides ample arch support, which is crucial for people with flat feet or a sagging arch.
Cons
  • Limited use for various activities

It took a while but I finally got the right size

They are a bit small and I had to buy a size up to make up for that so I had to return the first two times. Now I finally have the right size

Pros
  • These are the same shoes I bought a few years ago. Great fit and comfortable to wear.
Cons
  • Can cause discomfort in the soles

Width dimensions are different in my rating

I always fit in width D and bought shoes accordingly. In recent years I have found that this is no longer the case. In recent years I have had to order skinny to ensure a good fit. Perhaps the industry has changed its sizing criteria.

Pros
  • Works as it should.
Cons
  • The shoes were true to size but creaked and creaked. They allow air to flow around the toe of the shoe.

Excellent WIDE shoes in my review

The width of my foot has grown to EE. Have tried many double E shoes and they fit perfectly. Almost bought a second pair for twice the price.

Pros
  • Bought 2 pairs, NOT disappointed!!
Cons
  • Lack of grip on certain surfaces

Good sock!: my rating

It's difficult to find stable shoes with a large toe box. Hubby always wore Avias but the sock was still a bit tight. I took a chance and ordered a half size up as several reviews said it was smaller than expected. After 3 pairs we decided they were true to size and no longer chafing on the ankles. He never twisted his weak ankles in it either! Very satisfied!

Pros
  • I love the quality and the price
Cons
  • Limited sizes available

Very bad support. Not built for long walks.

Hiking shoes do not support this idea. Terrible support. My old Nike shoes offered the best grip. Very light shoes. I had to send them back. But I chose casual shoes. Not intended for long walks. Not recommended for people with back problems.

Pros
  • The shoes fit well. Comfortable and stable shoes.
Cons
  • Not suitable for people who need extra toe room.

Spacious forefoot and stable

I want shoes with a flexible upper and roomy toe box for my wide feet so there are no painful chafing spots. This shoe meets those requirements. I would have preferred the New Balance 928, but these Propet shoes are readily available and are $60 less. This Propet model features a true SL-2 last, a wide and deep toe box with a narrower ankle area to allow the shoe to hug your feet for stability and comfort. Many other brands that claim the SL-2 last (even the New Balance) allow the ankle area to

Pros
  • I tried them on 12N but they were too tight. Size 13N was very comfortable and great for walking.
Cons
  • I sent them back. Metal eye rings pulled from a shoe.

Decreasing quality good for me

I used to buy them expecting them to last a year or more. Soles wear out first. However, the thick leather straps that hold the D-rings for the laces have been replaced with cheap, fiber-reinforced plastic strips. In less than a month they broke and rendered the shoes unusable. I don't think I will return to this brand again.

Pros
  • Excellent hikers
Cons
  • Lack of arch support

Attractive and comfortable all day long

My husband has trouble walking after a stroke. These shoes will stabilize him in and out of the house. This is our third purchase. Very glad we found her.

Pros
  • The shoes make a durable impression. I've had them for a week, it would be nice if they came in 2A
Cons
  • Limited color options

Great for wide feet

These are the only shoes my husband can wear comfortably. He has a foot injury that left his big toe joint very swollen and they fit him perfectly. Once he wears out a pair I order a new one if available. He wears them for mechanical jobs, gardening, welding and farming, so they only last him about a year, but that's twice as long as other brands of shoes! worth your money.

Pros
  • NO
Cons
  • May cause toe discomfort

Shoe sole - my new test

The sole of the shoe only opens up after a few months of wearing. The husband is disabled and already has balance problems; so I won't buy it again

Pros
  • I like the look and the lateral support.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for all weather conditions

Update #2! I like the shoes but they have problems

On my 3rd pair and it's almost August! I had to use ShoeGoo on every pair as the sole of the shoe came off on every pair. Lace loops are metal and have very sharp edges on the inside of the loops. They cut into shoelaces for a few days and up to a few weeks. I had to replace the laces on each of my shoes with high quality and durable strings. Stability and quality of materials in general (except string hoops) - all 5 stars. The extra strong and wide base has fixed some of my walking problems…

Don't buy this shoe if you want a wide foot

Don't buy the standard shoe if you have a wide foot. I'm a size 12/4E but need more space in the tow box due to an injury. The new walkers are marked 5E (XX width) but I have fitted the insole to my 2E Hoka Bondi 6 insole and size 1 is 4 inches smaller (D). I've tried three different Proēt shoes and a few New Balance xx-wide models and they're all labeled D-width and 5E. So here's a tip for my wide foot friends (I was told by a podiatrist) Remove the insole from the shoe (if it's removable)…

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Not the best

WIDEST shoe in the world

This is the widest shoe (dress, sport, etc.) currently available on the market. Period! This 5E wide boot is wider than any other 6E orthodontic boot from New Balance, Drew, Vionic, Mt.Emey (I wasted my money on all of them). I have incredibly wide feet and have been wearing these shoes for 30 years. As I got older and my feet spread even more, I found that by not threading the lace through the bottom holes and tying the laces loosely, I could increase the width a bit. In the last 5 years I…

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Confusing

Disappointed in Fashion Sneakers

This was my first pair of non-New Balance diabetic shoes. I chose them because they are a cheaper alternative to NB. Big mistake. After 3 months the sole burst and had to be repaired with superglue. My feet are supinated and the Mew Balance roller bar minimizes uneven heel wear. I have enough New Balance products for about a year. The Propets have what the company calls a "heel counter" which I believe serves the same purpose as the roll bar, but the Propets are already showing significant heel

Pros
  • Comfortable to wear
Cons
  • Safety

From best to worst in orthopedic shoes

I have been buying Propet hiking shoes size 8.5 5E as my favorite shoe for over 7 years. These were the best shoes I have ever owned in my 59 year life. I was born with a club foot. I've had multiple surgeries in my life. My shoes always wore outwards because I could never find an 8.5 5EEEEE. I would sort out a pair of shoes every month (and I work at a desk). A diabetic brought me to Propet. What a blessing until last year or so. They are garbage now, something is wrong. They don't fit and…
