Description of 🎯 High-Quality Proto Pasta PCA11705 BLK Polycarbonate ABS Alloy Spool: Perfect for Printing Projects

Polycarbonate-abs alloy is a strong, resilient material that is easier to print than just polycarbonate but with the added benefits. High performance material for high performance hardware! heated bed and high temperature all metal hot end required. Processing is more challenging, good results are achieved when printing small parts at 270-280c on a heated bed. For larger prints with good layer adhesion and minimal warp an enclosure is ideal. Printed parts are tough, lightweight, and have excellent impact resistance. Use with good ventilation. Designed and manufactured in the USA with quality as a top priorities. Usa sourced packaging and labor. material type: Magnetic Iron PLA.

Great Filament: 3D Printing Consumables

This material prints fine on my Prusa printer. It took some time to figure out the ideal print settings. Settings: Extrusion temperature 275C. The temperature of the heating layer of 120Β°C is reduced to 110Β°C after the first layer.

Pros
  • Printed parts are strong, lightweight and have excellent impact resistance. With good ventilation use
Cons
  • thin

High quality, but beware.

This is a difficult polymer to process. Protoplast PC-ABS is of high quality and excellent extrudability. Make sure you have a heater that can handle 120C comfortably and I recommend using an enclosure.

Pros
  • Designed and made in the USA where quality is our top priority. US packaging and labor
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Disappointing compared to other Proto Pasta products

So I have an amazing review of Proto- Leave Pasta Carbon PLA fiber.. and I want to say the same about ABS. I have trouble using ABS - I've used every trick I can think of, tape, hairspray etc. I can't get ABS to stick to the bed (even at 125C with hairspray) and it doesn't like to undo it on its own gluing large assemblies. When I build a very small model it works great and I have no complaints (size 3" x 3" or smaller) but anything oversized was a complete disaster. I have read all the tricks…

Pros
  • A polycarbonate/ABS alloy is a strong, ductile material that is easier to print on than plain polycarbonate but with added benefits
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
