I was initially skeptical about this product because the cables are so thin but it worked as advertised and better than expected. I used this to split the signal from my computer to the monitor and projector at the same time. All of the SVGA cables I used were brand new, thick, and had ferrite cores, which may help reviewers reporting signal degradation. I bought this dual VGA adapter cable to share a monitor between PC and Xbox without having to constantly switch cables. The idea works like this: Currently I have to disconnect the Xbox VGA cable from my monitor to connect the PC VGA cable to use the PC. Then if I want to use an Xbox instead, I have to reverse the process of removing the PC's VGA cable and plugging the Xbox's VGA cable into the monitor. Completely dissatisfied. One of my main concerns was the screen quality degradation when the signal was "split". This was immediately visible when I connected my monitor(s). So much so that both displays become practically unusable. The result was two dark, faded, and poor-quality screens. This definitely won't work for me. After doing more research, I found out that the only real solution was to buy an internal card that allows the use of two monitor "outputs". Now I know.

This splitter has a screw post on both the male and male ends, so it's impossible to get a guaranteed tight connection for what I'm using it for. After looking at the other splitters, I saw that they are all the same. I will say they have a good positive solid connection and are not afraid of the cables slipping off. It would only be nice if the screw post was only on the male end!

I thought it would be easy to use. I plugged it into the back of my PC and disconnected two monitors to use in two different rooms. One of the monitors had flapping and the system would freeze from time to time so I had to unplug one monitor to allow the other to work. I have to admit that I'm not too tech savvy t 58, but this should have been a no-brainer. I had to call my IT pro to install the best graphics card to run dual monitors.
