These slide clasps are better than clasps as they don't protrude as much. They're a little harder to put on and harder to adjust, but they look a lot prettier and cleaner. The quality is excellent. The black is lacquered and it's not perfect, but for the price you can't complain. When I first used them, I had to bend them open a bit to make them easier to put on. These tie clips are great. They are good quality, come in a nice box and are very stylish (nice and slim for modern skinny ties and have a matte finish which I like compared to the more usual polished/chromed look). Out of the box they are very tight and difficult to put on and take off, but I slipped some collar garters between the clip pieces and stretched them for a couple of days. Now they are perfect. Highly recommended.

for the price I didn't expect much. I was just hoping for usability. but to my surprise these clips look really good. also high quality material. Some reviewers said it was too long, but it goes well with my 2" skinny ties. Others have said it is not suitable for thick ties as it is too tight. Just stretch the metal (make sure it's not too strong) to the thickness of your tie and you'll be fine.
