Doesn't work with 2021 Model S Plaid

Filter looks good but doesn't work with my 2021 Model S Plaid. It's not wide enough, it's too high, it's not thick enough. Judging by the pictures, the right filter is a Tesla factory filter.

Pros
  • Good stuff
Cons
  • So-so

Fits and works as expected

This filter is for a Model S facelift where it must be installed by removing the glove box. Not difficult, but takes about 10-15 minutes to install. It only lasted a week or so and seems to fit and work well. But it's just an air filter.

Pros
  • Useful for more than intended purpose
Cons
  • Can't remember

Incorrect size for 2016 S model.

This is listed as correct for the 2016 S model. My car is called 2016. This is a pre-facelift car. This filter is the wrong size. It's wrong in all dimensions. I cut it to avoid the hassle of sending it back but it doesn't fit well and is probably less effective. I will be purchasing a proper Tesla replacement soon.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Empty

Fits good. Complicated installation.

Perfect for a 100D facelift with HEPA filter, no idea how good the filtration is compared to the drain which looked pretty clean after 50,000 miles. Much easier than trying to buy it from Tesla. While installation requires removing 3 panels and removing the glove box, make sure you have torx screws and extensions ready.

Better than the original

I bought this for my Model S because it was very difficult to order a genuine filter from Tesla. I'm so glad I did this because the filter seems to have more layers than the original. The filter fits very well, no complaints. The musty smell from the ventilation was gone and my car smelled fresh again. I will definitely buy again and not order the original from Tesla.

Pros
  • Air Filter and Accessories
Cons
  • Low Repairability

Worked in 2017 Tesla Model S

I ordered this to replace the cabin air filter in my 2017 Tesla Model S. Requiring special tools and can be done in a minute, Tesla is a big problem. You'll need a pry bar to remove the panels around the glove box and a torx screwdriver to remove half a dozen screws. I'm guessing Tesla didn't plan this as a do-it-yourself job.

It fits my 2017 Model S. Fits Filter

Fits my 2017 Model S. I'm no filter expert but it was as good as the OEM filter. The OEM was white on top, this one was blue. Not sure which is better, but both appear to contain charcoal. See the thread on TMC titled "Changing the Cabin Air Filter on the Updated Model S" for S facelift replacement instructions. I am not allowed to link directly to it here. .Please note that the HEPA filter is completely different. I believe all S have this cabin filter, but HEPA is optional and can be added in

Cons
  • No Insurance
