No need to throw away the Pur pitcher!

These filters fit my Pur jug, they filter quickly and the water appears clear. I noticed that I could taste the chlorine in the water again, which is not good for brewing tea. Chlorine is in our spring water, not in filters, but that's one of the reasons I filter my water. I was wondering how these filters work so well when the water flows through them so fast that the top of the pitcher doesn't fill before the bottom is almost full.

Cheap fake?: Krug water filter

I can't find the Pur filters I've been using for years so I bought this generic Chinese version. Fits in my standard pitcher. Water passes through this filter as if it weren't there. Very light compared to pure filters. When I soaked this filter as usual, a dark blue ink material came out. There are no instructions in this box, so unlike put filters, they may not need to be submerged before first use. The water tastes fresher than straight from my old pipes. I don't know if it filters anything.

Evil misrepresentation of facts!

Okay, I'll admit I'm one of those jerks who was fooled by their intentional misrepresentation. I thought they were really PurPlus products and didn't notice the "E" in the name. To make it even sloppier, in their description they talk about all the great testing they've done on PurPlus filters, hoping we won't notice that the "E" suddenly disappeared from the product name. Absolutely useless.

I mean, well. I know they're generic, I know they're from China, but they're total rubbish. I'm pretty sure they are either refurbished or refurbished or refurbished defective items or something, they all had witness marks as if they had been previously placed in a filter like mine. In addition, the o-ring is so small that it doesn't fit in the huge groove it sits in, and more often than not it slips out when you try to install the filter.
