Convenient Pack of 2 Pyrex Prepware 1 Cup Measuring Cups with Red Graphics for Accurate Measurements Review

I find Pyrex gauges to be durable and love that they can be used in the microwave without the handle getting hot. I also don't have to worry about leaching chemicals like a plastic jar. As it came in 2 packages I was able to give one to my daughter!

Pyrex is the first company (as far as I know) to make glass measuring cups. There have been many imitators over the years, but we still prefer Pyrex. Their glass is thicker and stronger than any we've seen. We still have a Pyrex measuring cup that is over 20 years old.

I gave the measuring cups 1 just because they are good. However, they do not withstand being washed in the dishwasher. The description says they can be washed in the dishwasher, but after four or five starts there are absolutely no stains left on them. I've had Pyrex measuring cups for years and never had a problem until I tried these.

My single cup pyrex measuring cup is gone (I think my daughter stole it). So I had to buy a new one. I'm disappointed they don't have ounce markings like they used to. I make my own salad dressing and need a 3 ounce scoop. I bought two packs because sometimes I need two when baking and now I don't have to rinse them. Pyrex is the only way out.

This is one of the few things that hasn't been tainted by new, supposedly better, modern interpretations. A good heat and freeze resistant Pyrex measuring cup = 1 cup. It only works for cooking/kitchen related purposes, light housework. I could go on and on about its qualities but all you need to know is that these 1 cup Pyrex measuring cups are very much worth it.

Why does Pyrex make a measuring cup that holds almost 2 cups but isn't labeled? This measuring cup is designed for one cup, but holds almost twice as much. I didn't notice it because of the HUGE red Pyrex brand name above. It would be easy to make the measuring cup smaller, but that would mean reducing the brand name. I don't need to see a mark a mile away. In fact, I don't even want to see their brand.

When I looked at my new glass measuring cups, I immediately noticed that they were different. No more spilling cold or hot liquids on your fingers when transporting from one place to another while cooking. I really appreciate not having to clean up after an accident that I didn't expect. There is literally almost 1 and 1/2 inch between the 1 cup mark and the rim of these measuring cups. Metric system and ounces. Easy to read. No more spills! Great for liquids. I'm having trouble uploading a photo or I would like to show the difference between my grandmother's pre-war pyrex measuring cup and the new ones. The old ones had a closed handle, much smaller and thinner, which got very hot. The smaller one, measuring 8 ounces in diameter (just a measure of an ounce), reached almost to the brim making it easy to eject. Graduation is in one ounce, making it a bit difficult to read.
