Fixed zero output voltage issue on my large 3500w generator. Don't worry about matching colors on the wiring harness. Just plug in and get started. The red wire is the + for the brushes. 4 stars because the screws had to be filed to fit. The 12 year old generator is back in operation. GREAT!

Our Champion 3500 generator wasn't working so we watched several YouTube videos which all pointed to the AVR part. It didn't produce electricity. Found it on Revain for a good price and now the generator is working fine again. Saved the generator and saved us $$…. Its worth it !

I got lucky and guessed correctly which part of my alternator was faulty. The power was cycled on and off with the engine running. After researching what could be wrong I decided to buy this regulator for my 3500w generator. Now runs as it should. A good body too

This AVR looked and fit like the original AVR for my 3500/4000w Champion alternator, model #C46540. Fixed an issue where the generator was producing much less voltage than normal. Now if I'm set to 120 or 240 volts I get the correct voltage. I had to fine tune the voltage adjustment screw on the back of the AVR to get the correct voltage, but it's very easy to do.

Perfect for Champion 3500 (Honda clone) You really need a multimeter to complete the installation. First you need to set the meter to Hz and turn the governor screw on the motor to get about 60-61.5 Hz. Then switch to AC volts on the multimeter and turn the blue potentiometer on the AVR (the snippet in question) clockwise to increase the voltage to 120V. You will need a very small potentiometer screwdriver.

When you first get the AVR, its simple red "plug and play" wire is always positive, it wasn't told it's positive wires, next time i checked it while working it only had 102 voltages on its output, that's not enough, the avr wasn't set to 120 volts. When new, you must turn the screw clockwise while the meter is on to get the correct tension. That's what the seller has to say, the consumer should have found out for himself.

About 1 week ago we had no electricity for about 8 hours due to a strong storm. When I went out to start our generator it didn't work. I've had this alternator for about 18 years and I remembered the last time this happened it was the regulator problem. I was very pleased that it worked when I installed the new regulator and started the generator. Now that we have power outages again, we have backup power.
