Works Great - Starter and Parts

This starter bolts directly onto the engine of my 12hp Briggs & Stratton mower. and works great. This purchase saved me hundreds of dollars compared to the dealer. Excellent purchase!

Great quality, great price!

Came very nice packaging, in return made the installation easier. I got a quality replacement for a fraction of the cost! I will rate this product in terms of durability. It takes time for an honest evaluation.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Useless features

Great price for a great starter.

So far after a day of use the starter works perfectly. First I had a 1976 Gilson that used a different bracket on the starter. I had to disassemble my old starter and my new starter. Transferred front bracket and all is well. Would I buy again if I needed another for another tractor.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not bad

Thanks!: Starters and spare parts

Perfect. I have a 17 year old LT1000 with a Briggs & Stratton engine. He owes me absolutely nothing. But I'm too stingy to buy a new lawn tractor. Aside from the blades, this was the first thing I had to replace. The first time lit and lit. Fixed my mower for less than $40. Remember to count your teeth before ordering.

Pros
  • Worthy performance
Cons
  • I don't remember

Works for my John Deere LT166

Very easy to install just took a few pictures of how it looked before installation. It's been about a year and everything still works great. I have a John Deere LT166. Don't try to use a metal gear here or you could ruin other parts. This is plastic for a reason - it would be better if this gear got worse than other parts every 10 years.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Obsolete model

Perfect OEM replacement at 1/3 the price

This starter was the perfect replacement for my John Deere LT166 garden tractor at 1/3 the cost of an OEM starter! Everything fitted together so the installation went smoothly. Works flawlessly. I love that they include a spare gear as this part of a John Deere tractor is notorious for wear and tear. They appear to be of the same quality as the OEM units.

Perfect replacement for the original plastic

I've seen a lot of bad reviews about the plastic gear not being durable but my mower has plastic teeth on the flywheel and the old starter I removed had plastic Gear. on topic. I can only assume that people who fail prematurely have metal teeth on their flywheels. Replace it with a similar one and everything will be fine. The shafts have been running great for over a year with no real signs of wear or fatigue.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Piggy bank price
