I removed the top cover because it got in the way. When I saw how dirty it was, I regretted not leaving it on. I use it for Ni-MH AAA and AA batteries. What I like best is that it can charge one battery at a time. I have several flashlights that only run on 3 batteries. That's enough for 3 batteries. And it tells you when each individual battery is ready. I removed a star because some AA batteries barely fit in the chamber because they are too thick or the chamber is made too small.

Pros
  • Nickel Cadmium
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Charging Heaven Battery Chargers

I recently bought a Canon digital camera and installed the alkaline batteries that came with it. After 5 minutes (or maybe less) these batteries died. Apparently these cameras eat a lot of batteries. So look for recommended NIMH type AA batteries. After stopping by a few stores and having sticker shock, I went to the local Wmart and found this charger for about $12 with two batteries included. I bought 4 more NIMH (Rayovac) batteries just to be on the safe side. This charger is easy to set up…

Pros
  • Nickel Metal Hydride
Cons
  • Doubt

Have owned this charger for many years

I bought one of these for NiMH batteries a few years ago. I've since given up NiMH but use this charger all the time to charge regular alkaline batteries. It works great with regular alkaline batteries that don't go below 1.43 volts. However, it occasionally charges over-discharged batteries and works, but is stable at around 1.43 volts. You can expect about two recharges from alkaline batteries. The reason this charger can charge regular alkaline batteries (where other chargers can't) is…

Pros
  • Rechargeable alkaline
Cons
