I connected my Mac Book Pro, worked fine, connected with no problems, easy to see the drive. However, when I copied about 20GB of data from an SD card connected through this device to my laptop, after almost 80% transfer, I saw the stick's physical body heat up and eventually start to melt. I bought 3 of these units thinking I could leave one in each spot I needed but they didn't work very reliably. I'd say it actually works when I first plug it in, about 10% of the time. I reverted to my much older USB2 reader as it works 100% of the time but is slower. Also, this USB3 reader is about twice as fast as a USB2 reader, which is nowhere near as fast as it should be for a USB3 device.

This product made my son's downtime more comfortable to say the least. I use three computers to work in three different locations. One is on the third hard drive and the card reader no longer works. Works as advertised and has a good hard drive activity indicator which is rare these days. My only real complaint is that the case feels a little flimsy. I'm not sure if it will hold up for a long time if thrown in a bag with other things. I have other models that I have never dealt with. Also, the micro SD slot doesn't snap or latch.
