I was very hesitant to write this review because I've been using this brand for so long and love their makeup sponges more than anything I've tried. I didn't need them to check the reviews and I didn't question their authenticity (I bought a Prime eligible item directly from Revain). The item I received came in Real Techniques packaging but they were NOT REAL TECHNIQUES mixers! RT puts their logo on the product and the sponges I received had no picture anywhere, they were a slightly different color and shape but not immediately recognizable. It took me a few uses to really notice something was wrong. We only expect a few things from these blenders - they need to expand when wet, absorb and apply in a specific way that we've come to expect from RT, feel smooth to the touch…

Don't get me wrong, Real Technics sponges are the best and I prefer them over beauty blenders. But when I got these sponges, as soon as I put the sponge under the water, I knew something was wrong. The sponge didn't seem to absorb all the water because there were some dry patches no matter how many times I ran it underwater. it was also never fully expanded. I'm a big fan of Real Techniques products especially these sponges. I usually buy them at Walmart or Target but I have them here for found a few bucks cheaper so i decided to give it a try unfortunately i am 99% sure they are fake the packaging looks different than what i received before and even the packaging, the one i received looks different than the product photos!they still work good for me, i use makeup very casually but i can feel the difference.i will definitely spend a few bucks more…

DO NOT TRY TO SAVE A FEW DOLLARS HERE BECAUSE YOU WILL LOSE MONEY. I bought Real Technics sponges from the store, they are very soft and apply well. Well the ones I got weren't real. These were slightly larger, very thick, hard and fit awfully. Unfortunately, you cannot return this product either.
