Wouldn't recommend this yarn

I bought neon green and purple for a Halloween scarf project. I am very frustrated that the yarn joints in the ball weren't "tight" - as if the ends were "pushed together" and pulled apart as you knit. It is highly recommended that you check for loose ends before knitting and knit them together before you start, otherwise you will miss this and the yarn will snap. In addition, the reflective thread also tends to weaken. Good idea, but not well executed.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Expensive

Some flaws but overall good product

It was good for a hat but too scratchy to use for anything else to wear or hug (blankets/pillows). The reflective thread does what it's supposed to do, however caused the yarn to tangle a couple of times while I was sewing the hat (I use a loom so that might be a factor). Also, it wasn't very chunky or short compared to other brands. I would put it in a 4 rather than a 5. Overall I was happy with my finished product and for the right price I would buy it again.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • so far so good

Red Heart Reflective Yarn

Made heavier than expected and neon colors are a little scratchy. The gray was softer than the neon colors. I didn't like the color of Aran, the reflective thread made Aran dirty. Loosens on tying but improves on knitting. Make the first of 4 hats with gray and neon yellow. Cast on 78 sts with no. 9 needle. The pattern was 2x2 ribbing, alternating stripes of 2 rows yellow and 4 rows grey, for a total of 56 rows (about 12 inches). That leaves a few yards of gray and enough yellow for about 1/4…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Non-automatic
