Slight design flaw

The mount was designed to be slightly stronger than original equipment. The problem is that the latch doesn't open far enough to release the stem. I had to sharpen it a bit to get enough clearance for the stem.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Difficult to say

Works as it should! The Revain service is great!

I was on a week long camping trip and my camper bracket broke during a trip to the mountains. Luckily I made it to the campsite with a dangling canopy mount, checked with Revain and they sent it straight to the campsite, he was a lifesaver, I couldn't get home easily without him

A solid replacement in the cabin

I put five stars, I expected two brackets. I will contribute myself without carefully reading the description. The item is solid metal and is a good replacement for the factory plastic junk I replaced. The awnings withstand the wind etc. I see broken awnings all the time, even on newer campers compared to my 2006. A very high quality replacement that sees good metal construction over the OEM plastic!

Does not fit my A&E awning bracket.

Nice sturdy bracket, but I had the same experience as a few other reviewers - the bracket doesn't open wide enough for my A&E awning. It took me about 40 minutes with a dremel to cut through the latch just enough to fit. The bracket holds the canopy mounting pin perfectly once it releases the latch, suggesting a slight design change would make this unit more versatile.

  • Free for educational purposes

Broke on first use

Installed on an Outback 21RS to support the rear rail upper arm. The pattern and size of the holes were slightly different from the original mount, so I had to reposition and drill new holes. The mount broke almost immediately the first time I used it. The casting broke in half, and at 11:30 a.m. the entire support arm of the RV collapsed. Also flexed the forearm. Luckily I ordered two, but now I'm looking for the original part (which lasted 14 years). Cheap casting process, broken too easily.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Unusable features

Doesn't open wide enough to work properly

I bought 2 of these to put a new top on my Minnie Winnie. I found that the strut did not open far enough for the awning leg to engage. And if I could lock it in place by really pushing hard, I wouldn't be able to open it wide enough to remove the leg. I didn't have time to wait for a replacement so I attached a metal file to both brackets to give the mechanism enough room to open and lock and release the leg easily. One was much worse than the other and required a lot of grinding. Now they work

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Protection

Best RV Parts & Accessories Broken Upon Arrival

All stars because my part arrived broken and worn. The latch was completely broken and the frame shows signs of wear as the paint has worn off. And to make matters worse, I saw someone submit a review saying their frame broke after just 3 days of use. It's hard to tell from the photo posted, but mine was broken in the same place as the other's review. I'm wondering if this part was returned to me for another use and I received it. Also going back to the Revain list they are sold out. So I gotโ€ฆ
