Good quality and compact

Generally good quality. Folds up nice and compact and fits in a nice carry bag. Height adjustable for use with a spirit stove or firewood. Large lid for all sizes of cups and pans for cooking. It's easy to add more wood thanks to the large opening in the sidebar.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Great little stove, best camping stove

This is a great foldable stove at a pretty reasonable price. I looked at a few other folding ovens and this one seemed to have the best of everything I was looking for. The only downside is that when you get it it's covered in that blue stuff (which is supposed to protect the metal from scratches), but it's everywhere. Literally everywhere, including the hinges, which were painful to remove. All in all, a small, foldable stove that does exactly what it's supposed to do.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • So far so good

Beautiful, simple and light.

Nice little oven that works as advertised. I keep mine in the kayak for easy shore lunches, but I find it light enough for the average backpacker/camper. I didn't like taking the plastic wrap off, but it actually arrived without a scratch! Make sure you preheat the stove before cooking as bits of plastic can get stuck in the hinges etc. A notice. I bought a #10x6 threaded rod with a lock nut on one end and a wing nut on the other. They replace the included pins, which can easily detach on…

Consider changing the manufacturing process.

This product concept is very good and will surely satisfy my needs if I can use it. Seams, and it is almost impossible to remove them. With a technical background and years of experience, I personally believe there is a better practice than keeping a blue protective film on stainless steel during the manufacturing process. available, the rest must be burned. This will be a problem for repeat business.

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Are you no longer afraid of the blue plastic coating?

I've noticed from reviews of this oven that many people find the protective blue plastic cover that needs to be removed before use to be a bit of a problem. Decided to write only to those who are thinking about buying an oven and are concerned about the coating said that my oven was delivered to me with no plastic coating. I can't tell if the manufacturer heard the cries of dissatisfied customers and stopped using the coating, or if it was simply missing on my particular oven (no other details…

Inexpensive oven suitable for stoves and grills

The oven is covered inside and out with a blue plastic film. They claim it's a target protector, but it's a camping stove. The thing is even pressed in loops and folds. I guess they got a good stock discount and just processed it without removing the film. The device I received was not properly assembled. One of the side panels is upside down so the holes don't line up with the other side. This is important as you will get metal bars going through these holes to hold the internal grille and add

Warm up, cook, have fun! on Backpacking Stoves

I love this item. You can use it on a picnic table like a gas stove! It really is so much fun. The design is perfect, but I have a tip. Fold up some aluminum foil to set on fire. Make a few holes for air access. This will prevent the coals from falling out and keep the heat hotter. In the beginning I had my luck with birch bark, then pine needles, pine cones, small twigs and finally sticks about 0.5 inch in diameter. grill, or use it to boil water while it's still lit. It's just incredibly fun.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Protection

Bought both. i love both

I have tried many individual grills over the decades and none compare to this design. When I ordered the large "New Model" I was a bit concerned that they take out holes to raise and lower the coals (hey, that rhymes), but that's not a problem. Where I live real fire isn't always possible, so I use very little charcoal. These things seem made for Kingsford. One layer on the coal shelf (9 for small and 16 for large) and you're spot on. Small for 1 burger patty, 2 sausages, 1 small steak or pork…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Reliability

In general, the oven is not bad for the price. Cooks well, but not very reliable and stable. It folds compactly, but if you move it be careful as it will fall apart. Can cook something for one person, maybe for two. The ashtray will fall out of you if you move it too far, as will the griddle. I like that the grill plate is adjustable. My biggest complaint is that the parts don't snap into place. Not sure if I'll keep it or send it back and look for something else. Update: I've used it a few…
