Casually fits hex nuts

Great to have a wrench that fits both my 1 7/8" hitch balls and my 2" hitch balls, but it fits casually. I don't know why they did it that way. They could either do better or make a hex wrench instead of a 12 point wrench. The rest is OK.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Excellent value, best value in exterior accessories

I had a ball joint problem on a recent car trip but didn't have a wrench big enough to use unscrew a 1 1/2 inch nut. This key costs $9 ($20 in stores). The long handle allows high torque to be applied to the nut. It belongs in my truck tool box.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for support and durability
Cons
  • Functionality

Essential for tow bar accessories

If you have a tow bar you will need this key. Sooner or later you'll have to remove the hitch ball and they'll run at over 250 ft-lbs of torque. This wrench provides enough leverage to loosen a nut without a catch. It lives in my camper tongue box with spare lock washers.

  • New
Cons

Perfect fit for my application

I saw a YouTube video of using a ball end wrench of these sizes to replace ball joints on my '96 F-150 and it worked really well. On the 1 ⅛ side I had to make a lot of effort and it didn't budge at all. And I always have it on hand when I need to change the clutch balls. Win.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • poorly thought out

The 2 " end fits both my 1-7/8 " and 2 " ball joints!

A few weeks ago I tore my house apart looking for my really big 'lost' adjustable wrench but I never found it. A few weeks later it was right where I left it, in a hitch bag. Decided to take this key. It's heavy, just the right length and it's a box x box so I don't break my arms. The nut has some play, but nothing out of the ordinary for the size of the wrench.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Almost never

Why didn't I buy one of these many years ago‽

Why didn't I buy one of these years ago? I've been towing for 20 years and have always put this purchase aside due to limited use. Well I had to replace a worn out ball and decided to give it a try. At this price, just go for it if you have a car that can tow. You can buy an outlet, but it's still not used very often and you still need a sweater. It's the length you need and costs less than ten dollars. Just do it!

Pros
  • Trial year
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Just not the right size.

I bought this Reese wrench to use with a Reese clutch and 2" ball because I assumed a Reese wrench would fit the nut of a 2" Resse ball would, but that should have saved my money. The wrench is about the right size but is too big so it tends to slip off the nut if not held quite straight. Correctly. I probably should have gone to the local hardware store and bought the correct wrench.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Obsolete

Doesn't really fit

I have 4 different towballs and this one doesn't fit any of them. I suspect the size of the nuts used on the balls is far from universal. So better check the exact size you need rather than assuming a hitch ball wrench will fit the hitch ball. A disposable tool is great when it does that one job well, but for me it was a total failure. While it did fit, the quality of the key was generally not impressive. For something that long and for nuts that need to be fairly tight, the metal on this…

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Great price
