Produces about 60% of rated output

As you can see, I positioned the panel directly to the sun and, as you can see i screenshot time stamp, it’s right at midday sun. Not a cloud in the sky. It’s 105° day here in Phoenix. I’m running the Renogy mono 175w panel through a Renogy DC-DC controller with MPPT. On paper, this is an ideal set up and conditions. My results? Most I could get was about 100 watts and maxed out at 6.05 amps. Spec sheet says it should max at 9.75 amps and, of course, 175 watts. Now, I get there may be some loss…

Pros
  • Solar & Wind Power
Cons
  • The solar panel's size can limit its usability, especially for individuals who live in small apartments or homes

cables to short on my review.

The cables are a few inches to short for hooking them in series laying them horizontally (long ways). I had to buy additional extensions making them cost just a little more.

Pros
  • These things are amazing. 175W
Cons
  • I expected at least 150W!

Overrated wattage output.

The panel is light and looks nice and seems well-built. But it does not put out anywhere near 175 W. It is June 27, a 95° day with full sun, no clouds, the panel is clean and the sun is directly overhead and the most this panel puts out is 125 watts. Disappointing.

Pros
  • Solar Panels
Cons
  • The solar panel's high efficiency is dependent on adequate sunlight, making it less useful in regions with low levels of sunlight
