This is the perfect size for chicks. 1 gallon is great for measuring and mixing electrolytes and probiotics in water. My last batch of chicks had 2 liter drinkers which I had to refill daily and then twice daily as they grew. 1 liter is a good amount for a few chicks, but not enough for a large batch. This is a great way to keep my 4 feathered ladies nourished! I hang this on the fence where they tend to loosen up with 2 short bungee cords allowing me to quickly reach out and grab rather than having to go out into the yard. That and I can easily add ice on hot days or warm oregino tea on cold days.
