Just received this, so I can’t comment on longevity

I would absolutely consider thisa) better than my original pergola topper,b) UNIVERSAL (assuming your dimensions are appropriate)"b” is probably most important because it’s such an expensive topper compared with some of the alternatives out there, and you want it to work for your existing structureI only received it yesterday, and put it up today, but the quality seems very good. It rusted within a couple of months

We bought this item on July 9, 2019 through Lowe's. It is the very same item, produced by the SunJoy Group in Singapore and sold at Lowe's under the home-brand Allen+Roth. The item looked beautiful and we were very excited about it but it started dripping rust at the seams within only a couple of months. This summer (June 2020) the rust issue became absolutely unmanageable. I just SunJoy and Lowe's our complaint letters. I hope this can be rectified. I would steer away from this item if I were…

A little tough to assemble but looks so good. Very sturdy too.

Cons

While the canopy may initially look sturdy, it can suffer damage from high winds, rain, and sun exposure. Moreover, it needs frequent cleaning and maintenance for it to last

Exactly what I needed

Love our pergola from Lowe's and wanted a backup for the top to be sure it lasted for years to come. This one is exactly like the one that came with the original

Pros

Had to replace the original one with this. Skeptical at first but lovin it so far!

Cons

The ties ripped right off this sunshade on day 1. Will have to sew and see if it holds.

10 x 10 will work if you used a 10 x 12 canopy previously.

I used the product as a replacement canopy on my arched pergola. The replacement canopy is much better due to the removal of the border material which was previously attached. This material became worn and defected when left in direct sunlight over a period of time. It became weak and easily torn when adjusting the canopy.

Sun protector only good for me

I was so use to a previous feature, when all rain came pouring down and didn't allow us to enjoy soft summer/fall rains, I was most disappointed. It is a beautiful product but fails to do much more than a small bit of sun protecting.
