After removing the old Oakley lenses from sunglasses, .

After removing the old Oakley lenses from my sunglasses, I was surprised to find that the new lenses are much thinner. Oakley lenses appear to have a beveled edge that fits into the frame. Interchangeable lenses do not have a beveled edge as they are much thinner. They were a little tricky to install which was very frustrating as it took a while to install.

Pros
  • Just buy them if you want to replace Tightrope lenses!
Cons
  • Not suitable for all Oakley Tightrope models.

NOT perfect: my rating

After a few hours of checking that it wasn't user error and using a different frameset from a mate who has a pair of Oakley Tightropes, I've concluded that the difference is less than 2mm . the shape of the lenses from stock. As you can see from the photos, there is a gap near the nose that does not allow the lens to be mounted in the frame. With the elaborate box, lens pouch and handy screwdriver, you get a false sense of hope, but then along comes the Batista bomb while you're wasting time…

Pros
  • Enhanced Durability: The lenses are impact resistant and are designed to ensure the long-lasting quality of your Oakley Tightrope sunglasses.
Cons
  • May not be covered by the Oakley warranty

You will work for now. Because Oakley is not alone.

You will work for now. Since Oakley no longer makes these glasses, I was forced to buy these lenses. They are much thinner than the original. When you wipe them, be careful, they will pop out if you're not very careful.

Pros
  • Improved visibility
Cons
  • Lenses can be more difficult to clean and maintain than Oakley Original lenses.

Oakley Tightrope lenses

The lenses are great! As if my glasses were new! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it took me a long time to install the lenses. I had to put them in grooves and bend them, and then twist the glasses and put the lenses in.

Pros
  • love these lenses. A great inexpensive replacement if you damage your original Oakley lenses.
Cons
  • Unstable polarization that may not work properly

Don't buy that shit

Much thinner lenses than the originals, a distinctly different shape and no bevel to help them fit the frame. This shoddy product isn't worth the cheap plastic they stamped it out of; The frames don't even close with them inside. Came back and Walmart really needs to remove this horrible product

Pros
  • Good
Cons
  • Black chrome mirror screen may distort colors and visibility.

Are too small for the frame

Thought they would fit better than they did, gaps between glass and frame didn't fit flush when I screwed the frame on. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • versatility
Cons
  • The company behind Oakley glasses does not support the alternative product.

I never thought that $36 for a product would make my job easier!

I never thought that $36 for a product would make my job easier. I work in security, I use my Oakley almost every day. Part of my job is checking employee IDs as they pass through the gate. Most days when the sun is out I can't always see through the windshield so the traffic slows down as I have to stop every car. I never thought polarized lenses would make a difference, I didn't even buy them for work, I bought them because the old lenses were all scratched, but they kind of removed the…

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful

Poor fit Accessories

I ordered this product as a last resort to save my Oakley Tightrope sunglasses. They were well packed and the tool worked fine but they came with a problem. The lenses did not fit in the frame. They are thinner than Oakley lenses, which have a ridge on the outer edge that blends into the frame. They are crestless and their shape left a distinct gap near the bridge large enough to be seen when worn.

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

A very good replacement, but not perfect.

I have ordered two sets of lenses for my frame which I have had for many years. The first pair was the bronze polarized elite and the second pair was the black polarized. The black color matched the tint of my original Oakley polarized lenses but was slightly thinner than the OEM lenses. The Bronze Elite has an extra layer (purple tint) on the back of the lens and I found it glared on my cheek in certain situations. In terms of installation, the screwdriver that comes with each pair of lenses…

Pros
  • I'm holding my fists
Cons
  • Hard to say

The quality of the lenses is very good, I dropped one when I put it in the frame, I expected at least a small scratch, but there is no scratch. Installation was a bit tricky despite the tutorial on youtube and that was because the lenses are about 0.25mm larger or maybe smaller than the eyes to fit perfectly so went back trying to tighten the frame bolts. The glasses are firmly in place up to the stop, but the frame is not. It deviates by +/- 0.25 mm. What I also didn't like so much is that…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Poor instructions
