So far so good!: Sockets and socket wrench sets

Sturdy, nice workmanship, looks good, feels good, works well. This is a good percussion jack. The axle nuts came loose in seconds, no complaints from my side.

  • Application: For removing and installing the axle nut from the vehicle to replace the drive axle, wheel hub and bearing and for other repairs.

Large Hand Tool Socket

Excellent socket. I'm in maintenance so the devices I work on require a 36mm jack. I also have a Chevy Silverado that I will put in if I even need to replace wheel bearings or anything. This is a great percussion jack. I have a 36mm socket for a 3/4" ratchet. I needed one for my 1/2" ratchet. It was an excellent choice. Would definitely recommend.

A must for an air-cooled VW owner

I almost blew up the engine on my 71 Zhuk and didn't realize that the alternator nut holding the inside of the fan is 36mm (unreasonably large). Luckily the impact socket here worked fine with my 20v impact gun without too much hassle. The side walls of the spout are quite thick and appear well made in this price range.

No Complaints, Great Bushing

The classic air-cooled VW has a 36mm cap nut/bolt in several places. I specifically requested this 36mm plug from RIGOR for use with these fasteners. This size is used on the air-cooled Beetle on the rear axle, engine flywheel and radiator fan. Torque specification for the rear axle nut is 217 ft-lbs, then continue tightening until the pinholes align, ie 217 ft-lbs+ (often much more).
