Description of Riverstone Audio Stabilizer Anodized Aluminum

PREMIUM QUALITY - Riverstone Audio Products are designed to enhance your music listening experience. We believe that audio products should be designed and manufactured to exacting standards using the best available materials and with close attention to detail. Jazz 380 record weight is precision CNC machined from 7075-T6 aluminum (a premium aerospace grade aluminum with a hardness approximately 58% higher than commonly used 6061-T6). BETTER SOUND - Improves contact between a record and platter to reduce the transfer of unwanted vibrations to a stylus. The reduction of extraneous vibrations reduces distortion - provides better detail, tighter bass and overall improvement of sound quality. Also helpful to temporarily improve flatness of LP's; a warped or bowed record changes the contact angle between the stylus tip and record groove - leading to audio distortion and additional lateral loading of a stylus. LESS STRESS ON MOTORS - The medium mass (380 g) of the Jazz 380 makes it well suited for use on most turntables, including vintage turntables. The medium mass requires a lower starting torque and the low profile/precision machining reduce wobble which lowers axial and radial loading of motor/spindle bearings during record playback. LOOKS GREAT ON A TURNTABLE - The Jazz 380 record weight not only improves sound quality, it is a work of art, and ergonomically designed for easy gripping. The exquisite surface finish was obtained by a process that involves multi-step glass beading, hand polishing and anodizing for surface protection and color. The “Sapphire Blue" is a deep sapphire-blue color; looks great on any turntable- modern or vintage. A foam-lined wooden box is included to protect the record weight when not in use. LARGE BASE, LOW PROFILE - Fits under most dust covers; however, best to measure before ordering (requires approx. 36 mm from record surface to underside of dust cover). With a large 80 mm diameter base, and a 1 mm thick EVA pad, the Jazz 380 record weight provides excellent vibration damping. Specifications: Mass 380g, 34.5 mm height, max. diameter (at base) 80 mm, spindle hole 7.25 mm dia. x 20 mm deep. Color: Sapphire Blue with a satin finish.

Excellent record weight - in a gift box! Highly recommended

I love this mid-weight plate stabilizer. Thanks to that my records of old remixes on EPs from the 80's sound good. It is also very well packaged for shipping and delivered in a sturdy wooden box with a felt lining. This is a luxury item and I would recommend it to a friend or family member who wants to listen to vinyl again.

I like it. for turntables & accessories

Does this make my recordings sound better? I do not know. Does placing it on top of my turntable improve my turntable ritual? Absolutely. Does it improve my setup visually? Yes. People have no idea what it does, but assume I'm cooler for having it? pretty sure they do. I have no idea what it does but I guess I'm cooler for having it? Maybe. Would I recommend this product? Yes, yes I would.

Five star product

Really very good product. Well made with beautiful finishes. It's not overly heavy, but heavy enough to place and hold the vinyl in a visually pleasing way. The packaging was way above average. It comes in its own beautifully designed storage box. The bottom is lined with thick felt material to protect your vinyl label. I'm a little fascinated by the height, but there's plenty of room under my turntable's dust cover. This particular color also went well with my Ortonfon Red Headshell. how could

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

A few things: Item is packed in about 9 pounds protective film, wooden display case, brass plaque on front and overall packaging which probably adds $10 to the retail price . At this point, the weight is just that, a well-engineered, solid piece of aluminum. I don't hear any difference during playback, mainly because the dust cover on my turntable didn't close with the record. Shame as they are quite versatile in size within a certain tolerance. I have decided to return the device. I just don't

Excellent results with a quality product

I have been using Riverstone Audio "Jazz 380" Record Weight for 6 months now. It works very well by adding enough weight to ensure stable record to disc contact and also helps reduce effects when the record is slightly warped. This improves the sound quality in detail as well as clarity and sound image. It's worth noting that this is an exceptionally well-made product. The build quality that went into making it is far superior to any similar one I've seen. I am very impressed with the…

A simple and effective way to improve your vinyl playback

Probably the most economical and easiest way to improve the sound of your records. Tightens the bass and keeps the record steady as it spins on the cymbal. The contact of the recording with the disc is also significantly improved. Extremely high quality material is used to craft all of their record weights. I don't listen to the record without it! Update: To the people who leave negative feedback because it doesn't allow to cover the dust while the record is playing. You should never play a…

Boy are you gonna carry that weight

I can't say I hear a difference in my vinyl but the weight makes sense as it reduces slippage and keeps the surface in contact with the disc. Note, however, that this also requires a suitable mat. The felt that came with my Technics turntable doesn't seem to match the high quality of the turntable itself. I am currently using a cork back covered with real leather. I've also tried an acrylic rug, but I think this combination works best. Now back to the weight. This is a beautiful piece presented

Pros
  • Sleek and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled

Compared to the highly acclaimed Pro-Ject record puck I tried, this one is about half the price and just as good. Sometimes even better. The Pro-Ject washer weighs about 2 pounds. I'm not comfortable with this weight. The Riverstone Jazz weighs 13 ounces, which feels just right—heavy enough to hold a record firmly on the platter, but not so heavy that it puts a strain on the motor. the typical silver or black color that comes with most pucks/plate clips. The shell is good. It's articulated and…
