Robinair's VacuMaster Economy Vacuum Pump is designed for air conditioning and refrigeration service, featuring a 2-stage rotary vane design, 7.5 ounce oil capacity, and non-skid feet. 3 CFM free air displacement; factory rated to 35 microns. 1/3 HP, 115V/60Hz thermally protected motor. Features an inlet fitting engineered for maximum airflow, while preventing oil backflow, and finned aluminum surfaces that dissipate heat faster, keeping the pump cooler and extending life. 1/4 and 3/8 inch MFL inlet fittings, 3/8 inch FFL x 1/2 inch ACME adapter, easy to read sight glass, easy access oil fill port, and angled oil drain valve for faster, more complete draining.

Very affordable for the occasional user

I'm no mechanic. One of my hobbies is repairing cars for friends and family. I needed a vacuum pump to repair an air conditioner (all R134A). My block doesn't look like the photo above. It looks more like a Robinair 15500. It's possible that the photos on this site have been mixed up somehow, I'm not sure. I have used it many times to evacuate the air conditioning of various cars and trucks. This pump is very quiet. I was expecting something very loud. This pump also came with a small bottle of

Quality control issue on assembly line

The two units received both had the same issues. The same nut was overtightened at the factory, resulting in housing failures on both assemblies. As you can see from the photos, the hull of the first block was completely destroyed. The second refill had a hairline crack in the same place as the first. Both washers under the nuts were slightly concave from being overtightened. Both devices arrived almost in their original packaging, handling them is not the cause of the failure. I keep this…

Quiet, would like clearer guidance, work with gloves. .

Very quiet. Haven't used it yet other than installing the correct adapter and filling it with the oil that came with it. Directions could be much clearer. I wouldn't throw away the exhaust plug he recommended. Remove when used but do not discard. Oil was already coming out of the can at the bottom of the sight glass, which according to the manual seemed to indicate only a minor adjustment in the oil level.
