I've been using Roku for many years including several different models. Roku recently released the Roku Channel, which offers hundreds of free movies. It is supported by ads. And now the Locast.org app gives you free local stations for CBS, NBC, FOX, ABC and PBS. Locast now offers LAN broadcasting for the New York, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Dallas and Denver areas and plans to add many more cities. I don't know why this Roku player isn't working well but the remote freezes after a few minutes. I tried unsuccessfully to contact Roku so I returned it to Revain. I saw in the negative reviews that people had similar issues and didn't get any help from Roku. It saddens me because I liked how everything is programmed into their system. I have a Roku 3 that still works fine and I continue to use it.

Roku streaming picture quality is better than Comcast signal. Very happy with it, although on my main TV it's not convenient to switch inputs between Roku and HD antenna to get local channels (this refers to my TV, not Roku). We use this with the Sling TV app, which also has a cloud DVR. I have no regrets cutting the cable and getting rid of that huge monthly Comcast bill.

I have to change the batteries once in the evening the next day after use. I don't use headphones and I always put them back on the main screen when I'm done (that's what Roku suggested to me) and they're dead as a doornail by the next night. Because of this, I took out the batteries after each use and put them back in the next time I used them. This device stopped working on the 31st or 32nd day after receipt. I contacted Roku and they said they would send me a replacement. After waiting five days after they said they would send me a new one and I hadn't received it, I contacted them to check the status. This was the first time they told me that I would have to return the defective product first and pay for the return shipping of their DEFECTIVE device. We now have 3 Roku Ultras. 2 of which are earlier 2017 models and now a new later model Roku Ultra 4660. There are so many positive things to mention. Cut the cable first and stream only from Roku, save money and only pay for what you want. Get rid of the Tivo, Cable Box, etc. that use mechanical hard drives that always fail, are slow, and add monthly costs for cable cards or a cable company DVR. Rock is much less.
