Works on vehicles with an accessible mechanical throttle cable assembly. Requires a Rostra control switch- sold separately. Manual trans veheicles may need a clutch switch- sold separately. Vehicles that do not have a usable speed sense wire will also need to purchase Rostra 250-4165.

Works as hoped

Installed this Cruise on a '97 Nissan Hardbody and it works very well. Rostra recommended a pedal mount setup, but I added a lever on the throttle body and hooked it there. It works well at higher speeds, but can respond with a slight surge at lower speeds (around 35mph), especially if you let off the gas pedal when you turn it on. Maybe this can be adjusted with on/off switches, but it's not too bad and turning the throttle up gives acceptable results. I wish there was a way to tie the clutch…

Pretty disappointing; updated Less disappointing

Worked on it for 2 weeks with a dozen calls to 2 really good techs and 1 bad one. First of all, the instructions are written overly complex and difficult to understand and after all my time and effort it could be a faulty device causing mine not to work. UPDATE: A replacement has surfaced and via cable only I was able to determine that it worked exactly as it was supposed to, unlike the first. Tech support was adamant that devices never fail, so I installed their $56 speed sensor and spent a…

Excellent relay support

I installed this on my 2007 Yamaha FJR. Although the device is universal and designed for a car, it works well on a motorcycle. The device was small enough to fit under the seat, with a throttle cable long enough to run down the bike frame in a long loop. It also has many configuration options so you can tweak it to smooth out the acceleration. After installing it on a bike, I took a trip down the interstate to test the device. After about 10 miles the device dropped the set speed. I re-set it…

Just what the old lady needed!

Just what I needed for my 1962 Thunderbird! Before installing it, I had leg cramps keeping the throttle constant while driving. I swear the gas return spring was originally a bed spring. Installed this beauty before driving an RT 66 in 2015. Finally 7500 miles comfortably! Worked flawlessly, maintained speed in all conditions, acceleration/deceleration was always smooth. One thing I changed when installing was to place 2 magnets on the drive shaft (on opposite sides) instead of the single…

Great unit very happy with the performance

Bought this cruise control for a 1998 Ford Ranger 3.0 V6 with automatic transmission. I installed it with a Rostra cruise control switch, part number 250-3742. The first thing you should do when considering such a device is to examine both the product and your vehicle. I've read about this product on various websites and found this to be a pretty good option, a really versatile unit that can support almost any car. That was important to me because if I decide to sell the truck I can take it off

  • Sleek design
