I was skeptical based on the reviews but this is perfect for cold weather cycling. It consists of 3 separate parts sewn together: neck, hood and face mask. The hood and neck are fleece lined and warm, the face mask is warm yet breathable. It kept me warm on 25 degree rides. The zipper is a bit fragile but requires care when closing and opening.

First of all this is the best hood I have ever bought. However, I have to say that it fits well! If you have a small to medium head size this is for you! I usually wear a large hat and this piece fits just right. I mean it's cozy and I can hardly close it. However, it is comfortable, breathable and currently waterproof. I wore it on a windy day in the rain while riding my e-bike at over 20km/h for an hour. Yes, it was warm and I stayed dry. I just wish they were a little bigger.

Excellent neck protection for vigorous spring outings in cold weather. The mouth cover is somewhat restrictive but no more than average for this type of balaclava.
