This round double convex high optical purity glass lens is designed for physics and educational uses. It is approximately 2" (50mm) diameter and 15mm thick. Note, thickness varies as they are not designed to be consistent in that respect. Because of their educational use design, there may be minor imperfections that do not affect physical function. 50mm Focal Length.

Sharp Vision with Double Convex Lens

The Industrial and Scientific Double Convex Optical Purity lens is a must-have for science educators! After I put it to the test I was blown away by the clarity and precision of this lens. The round shape also makes it EASY to handle and use .The only downside is that it is slightly more expensive than other lenses, but the quality is worth the investment..

Good for reading, bad for starting a fire.

I bought this to start a solar fire. It magnifies well, but compresses sunlight very poorly in a small space. The wallet-sized Fresnel lens outperformed it in the test. The thickness (rather thick) and narrower width make this combination bad for sunburns.
