🍲 Rubbermaid TakeAlongs Twist & Seal 1.2 Cup Food Storage Containers, Tint Chili - Set of 4 Review

I haven't used this Rubbermaid storage product in a while. Since I bought and used them a long time (years) ago. Three months ago I decided to order a new one. Glad I didn't buy two x 4 units. I'm pretty sure the tops easily screw onto the ones I had a long time ago. Not like that now. The current foundations seem fragile. Maybe they are thinner for environmental reasons, in which case I would give Rubbermaid 5 stars for intent. But be warned: the lids don't just fit!

I've had these sets for a long time, probably 10 years, and they're still in use. They are exactly the same, no longer skinny or anything. They're comfortable and don't spill, at least not when handled fairly roughly or tipped over. One thing is not so good. easy to clean, at least when I use them. half a can of instant soup that I heat up in the microwave. They're soup-free, but any tomato base will stain the stuff. Not too undesirable, just unsightly. I'm glad I can get another set. cw

For use in the freezer for homemade stocks. I like that they are plastic so don't worry about them breaking. With a screw cap, I don't have to worry about leaks. After years of use I only had a few chipped edges but for the most part they were very durable. I hand wash mine. I use them in the microwave when I thaw the contents. They also work well in a lunch box for salads and other foods that tend to leak. I also like that the lids don't come off. My favorite plastic container!

I bought a few of these and used them to carry yogurt to work every day for more than 3 months and every day they leaked. I used to put them in a ziplock bag to deal with, but that's a lot of ziplock bags for nothing. I thought maybe I had abused them somehow but then when I washed them I tried to fill them with water, close them as tight as possible and squeeze them and they definitely leaked (water and air came out ). These screw caps are more secure than snap caps, especially with liquid containing liquids, and are easier to remove and put on - snap caps or is difficult to slide up, either aren't they that secure, or the inevitable bending that occurs when they snap off will eventually snap somewhere (especially if used in a freezer).
