Filters out garbage

Decided to replace the old one with ss. Works flawlessly. Only in the fall is it a little harder to see the accumulation of debris than white plastic. Easier to clean than plastic.

didn't work for me on replacement under sink water filters

thought this stainless steel mesh filter would do, but the mesh is too tight for my needs and clogs in just 2 or 3 minutes. Size 60 fits me better but if there was an 80 I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Pros
  • Water Filtration & Softener
Cons
  • Style 90

Better backwash cleaning

Stainless steel filter allows for better backwash than a plastic filter. I had to periodically remove the plastic filter and clean it with a toothbrush (not necessary with this steel filter). .) I have two plastic filters that I no longer use.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Something different

I used the original 100 mesh filter and then I bought the 60 mesh stainless steel filter. The 60 mesh stainless steel didn't clog or restrict like the original 100 mesh polyester. After a few years I decided to try 100stainless steel to see how it would perform. I'm happy to see that the 100 mesh stainless steel filter also works very well and doesn't clog as quickly as the polyester filter. Polyester which I would have to physically remove to clean, while stainless steel seems less likely to…

Works great, best filter I've ever used

A few tips for those looking at these filters. First, they work great. Don't oversize the filter, choose one based on your water GPM. The sediment trap won't work if you use too much filter, in which case bigger isn't necessarily better. I have both the original down rotating filter and the new Sediment Trapper and they work great. We have a lot of fine sand in our well water and this filter catches it all and is easy to empty from the bottom with a quarter turn valve. You don't even have to…
