I've had this straightener for over 5 years and it still works great. Heats up quickly and straightens hair in one go (I have thin hair). My stepdaughter who has much thicker hair also uses it and loves it. I bought another one when I was scolded for taking it on a business trip and it didn't have one to use!

This purchase replaces my worn one. I think that says it all. A disadvantage. It wore out sooner than expected, but after reading other reviews it seems I overused the highest heat. But when I wear out the one I just received, I buy another one, thinking I'd rather replace a great product than spend money on one I haven't tried and think is inferior.

The first iron in my life that I didn't like and used a lot! I actually use a flat iron to add waves to my very straight/silky and thick hair. My hair kept falling out with this iron, I think because the heating plates were shorter than any other iron I've ever used. Anyway, I didn't like this article at all. I went broke because I was willing to shell out money for a good light weight iron as I travel a lot. Now I need to make a note of the length of the iron plate to avoid that in the future.
