🔌 Sabrent Premium 4 Port Aluminum Mini USB 2.0 Hub [90°/180° Rotating Design] (HB-UMMC) Review

A real workhorse and reliable. I am using this for a port on my work computer. That means I plug it in every day and use it all day. I ordered it because my new computer only has two ports and I needed at least four ports. It always works, it's very reliable, and I love the fact that it can stand upright or tilt to the side once your devices are connected.

The Surface Pro has only one USB port, so only one USB device can be connected at a time. It is very important to me that this USB hub allows me to access the contents of my portable external hard drive while using a USB mouse and keyboard. I previously purchased another USB hub (model: HB-UMLS) from Sabrent and it worked reasonably well. *sigh* I really want to like this product, especially since this is one of the few USB hubs with such a closed design (ie you can use it connected to a laptop without running dangling cables). **UPDATE** I took the unit apart to see what was going on. The rotation assembly had a small plate that holds the USB head and helps it rotate. Due to the design, there is not enough free space for the two outer wires. Not if, but IF you hit it, the bend causes the little rotating plate to sever one or both of the outer wires.
