OK, first thoughts. Wow . And they keep going.

So a few things, I bought this to upgrade my m.2 (Samsung OEM) 512GB SSD which was in my Razer 2017 14 inch. Setting 512 bytes. This means you CANNOT DIRECTLY CLON a disc UNLESS IT IS ALSO A 4K DISC. I saw this post and should have read it more closely, but of course I "knew" better. Yes, that would save me about 48 hours. Does that mean you can't move your files? No, it just means it requires a little more work. I had to image my existing drive onto an external drive (USB), create a Windows PE

Pros
  • Supports SMART and TRIM commands. Supports ONFi 2.3, ONFi 3.0, ONFi 3.2 and ONFi 4.0 interfaces.

Read HDD Clone

This drive is very fast and installation was easy. This is a bit off, but it's important to note that it uses 4K sectors and doesn't have 512 byte (512e) emulation. This little detail took me over 12 hours to figure out how to get the drive to work with what I needed to do with it (cloning my OS and encrypting it). With a clean install, this shouldn't be a problem. However, disk cloning is a problem because you need a cloning software that can convert 512 byte sectors to 4 KB sectors, and even…

Cons

Over speed at a ridiculous price!

I cannot express how pleased I am with the speed of this NVME. The Crystal Disk was up to the mark at rated speed. My computer boots in 2 seconds! I was a bit skeptical that I couldn't find much information about this drive but I found out that it is based on Toshiba BiCS 3d TLC NAND. They're innovators, so I've been good with that. Definitely worth the price for the performance. 512GB nvme, 3500/3000 performance and only $99! I will agree! The only annoyance I had was that I couldn't clone…

Warning: Sabrent has quietly redesigned the

This was done by Amazon, although the invoice clearly states that it is being sold by store4pc, a Sabrent partner/distributor. The product is clearly not genuine, as confirmed by Sabrent technical support. They don't use Kensington chipsets, instead they use a Phishon controller and a Toshiba chipset. TO EDIT. a few days later this changed, see the end of the review. The card was behaving strangely and ran poorly, less than 1/3 of rated speed. Investigated further and found that the card is…

It's fast. but hot. Overall great suggestion

EDIT: Although my original rating was 4 stars, I found it necessary to update it to 5 stars after receiving and installing the heatsink. Before installing the heatsink, my Rocket drive reached 78C during the test. After installing a $7 radiator, the max temperature is now between 50-50! What a huge difference. And it doesn't seem to throttle anymore (see third photo). So I'll leave it at my first review, but keep in mind that adding a heatsink will solve most of these issues. UPDATE (February…
