Accurate Nitrate (NO3) Test Kit for Optimal Water Monitoring - Salifert Nitrate Test Kit Review

Not only is this test faster, it is easier to use and more accurate than any other test I have used. I've been in the marine hobby for over 10 years and have used Red Sea, APIs and a few unnamed. None of them compare to the Salifert test. I will buy others I need. The best thing about the nitrate test compared to others I've used is that this one clearly shows zero nitrate, while others can sometimes be difficult to work out which color actually means zero.

I think this is the best budget nitrate test kit and more than adequate for our aquarium needs. I have calibrated this Salifert kit at 5, 10, 25 and 50ppm levels and have found it to be accurate. The next step is the highly acclaimed LaMotte set, which is four times the price of the Salifert set. The difficulty with these inexpensive tests is reading the results. I ordered this because I wanted a backup for my API kit when the readings went off the charts (and hoping it was the kit and not my water. No. Water. Big water changes and it started scaling.
