I did a lot of research before buying a DVD player because I craved all the fancy features but couldn't afford the best player. It has some great next level features for a very low price. The video outputs are superior to almost every other player in this price range (at least when you buy them), which comes in very handy if you have a good TV that supports them or are planning to upgrade. It takes more than a minute to read discs and then start playback. Sometimes they don't play at all and I have to reload them.
