Hot, Hot, Hot - Computers and Accessories

This disc is so hot you can barely touch it. Heats up during operation and also when idling. The "luxury" look, while beautiful, does not eliminate this deficiency, it only reinforces it. If there were some kind of shroud instead of a simple metal case, it could be handled better. As far as I know, this negates all performance aspects of this drive.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Nothing

Slow read/write after multiple transfers

I got 30-50 MB/s at first, but after about the third big transfer the transfer rate was under 10 MB/s, sometimes in the KB/s range. There is no point in using a 128GB USB 3.0 stick if the transfer rate is below USB 2.0 specifications. Ports are fine, drivers are fine - The Seagate external hard drive is ported to the maximum USB 3.0 specification. The Samsung Flash Drive supports data transfer rates of 30-70 MB/s. I regret this purchase.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • The list is getting long.

slim and thin but heats up and performance is mediocre

I waited until the prices came down a bit to buy a 256GB flash drive and since you have decent 3.0/3.1 drives from reputable companies, I found this one from one of my most trusted brands, Sandisk. Pros: - looks very nice - tiny Cons: - tiny (easy to lose) - gets very hot when in use - performance is mediocre (hoping for better sustained transfer speeds - the 128GB 3.0 Sandisk stick, the one I have has a better transmission speed)

Ideal for bunch of keys

The first thing that struck me was how small this USB stick is. It's about 1 1/2" long, 1/2" wide and 3/16" thick. It's very small and can easily get lost if you're not careful. I also found it a bit difficult to get the flash Inserting and removing the drive due to its size When I ran performance tests on the drive, I measured a read speed of 157.38 MB/s and a write speed of 23.02 MB/s when the drive was connected to a USB 3.0 port was. Not flimsy at all. I was a little worried about the…

Not impressed, likely to return

As mentioned by others, write speeds are noticeably slower for a drive of this size - only about 20-30MB/s/41 seconds for a 1.2GB file instead of 30 seconds that listed. , and it seems to get a lot slower with extended writes. Read speeds are as advertised, but for a large USB stick (256GB), write speeds are too slow for usability unless you download it once every few hours and never restart it. (And don't waste your time treating it like a bootable USB). It's also a very tight fit, which is a…

It's good but I'm not completely sold

Out of the box the disc impresses with its shape but right after installation there were a few things that were alarming. In minimal instructions, they talk a lot about using their security software. In OS X 10.15.1, the program cannot be uninstalled. It can be mounted without any software and is fast enough when copying media files. It feels VERY hot. I use it in the studio to transfer music files and it does the job, but it's tiny and I wouldn't try to put it on a keychain, especially since…
