Great light for plants but bulbs seem unreliable

I bought my first bulb in 2019. I use it from November to May for my ficus that spends the summer outside. I like the lamp for its brightness and 5000k rating. My ficus loves it too. This year I thought I would buy 2 more of these bulbs for more of my plants. Of the two lightbulbs, one worked and one burned out on arrival. Brought the dead one back and asked for a replacement but this one was dead. Both dead bulbs made a slight rattling noise, possibly mishandled. So 2 good bulbs and 2 dead…

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Out of style

These pears are very good. My color temperature was 5000K.

Very nice bulbs. The color temperature I got was 5000K and it was perfect with nice and even lighting. I searched locally (Lowes, Home Depot, etc.) and none had higher wattage CFLs other than Soft White, so Revain was my choice. Keep in mind that these bulbs are slightly larger (longer) than standard CFL bulbs. This is a 40 watt version with a 150 watt bulb output and is bright enough to light up my breakfast restaurant. I bought tubes from another supplier that were supposed to be 5000K but…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Very expensive

Extra bright CFL: bulbs

Extra bright CFL. The lamp consumes about 37 watts after warming up. I am using the first one I bought over a year ago in my bathroom and it works just as well now as it did the day I installed it in my faucet. Note that most light fixture covers will not fit over the bulb, they are twice the size of regular 23 watt CFLs. UPDATE 3/3/2020: They last about a year with continuous use 12-16 hours a day and about a year. one and a half in the bathroom, where it turns off and on several times a day…

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Not as thick as other models
