Scooby-Doo The Mystery Machine 🐶 Pet Suit by Rubie's Costume Company Review

Very poorly made. All edges were simply cut from foam, measurements were across the board, we initially ordered XL for our 100lb lab. He swam in it! Since I bought it early I returned it for an L. The big one was so small and narrow that we couldn't even fit it in without cutting a hole for the neck and a hole for the tail. Luckily it was just cheap flimsy foam and only had to be worn for two hours before going in the bin! I advise against ordering this item.

This costume was so cute when it arrived! My dog weighs 60 kilos and the XL fits him perfectly. But due to the fact that it was a thin thin fabric, it didn't start sticking, peeling and tearing until 30 minutes after I put it on for photos. I had to take it off after an hour because the strings were so bad and it was so badly untangled that it looked more like a mummy than a mysterious machine. I've had great compliments on it, but paying more than $30 for it is definitely not worth it.

It's easy to put on and he didn't mind wearing it. The one I have is a bit longer but I think it's pretty good. It fits his neck well, and that's the most important thing for us. What I didn't like was that it was up to his ass so he had to be undressed while he went on the potty so he wouldn't poop on him. That's probably not good for a pup who hasn't yet told you when to poop. We received a lot of good compliments and loved that our Halloween costume theme could be paired with our pet.

When I received this I expected it would fit with a little space. It's not like that at all. It is too much. She walked straight away. Not to mention that it was partially torn from above. Now let's talk about the prices... I bought it for almost $50 and if I'm writing a review it's less than $30. I stuck to the price. It seems to change every time I watch which is crazy. DO NOT buy this item. Not worth a bit. Returns are a nightmare, trust me. You do not want that.

The suit is cute but the size chart is wrong. I originally ordered a medium for my 18lb dog (the chart says 11-20lbs and she is usually a medium in costume) but the company never shipped it and Amazon returned it (don't know what happens there is). When I re-ordered the medium sizes were no longer available so I went for the large size (the chart says 21-29lbs and going up a size is recommended when in doubt). This costume is cute but HUGE. I measured my dog and ordered according to Ruby's size chart (I have a very large corgi with a large 25" chest and a long 27" back). Both sizes are too big for a real costume. Disappointed because the suit is decently made and looks like the picture (but certainly doesn't fit like that).
