A classic that's still good.

My mum used these when I was a kid and I never really thought about how great they were until I started shopping myself and trying out some of the alternatives. They're tough, last a long time and are surprisingly aggressive when cleaning. So much so that you have to be careful about what surfaces you use them on. You can scratch delicate materials. As I have a big family with lots of DIY projects I find many uses for them outside of the kitchen. That means the little 3-packs have always run…

Pros
  • Cleaning Pads and Sticks
Cons
  • So far so good

Lots of laundry: Household items

I like to use these sponges to clean encrusted dishes and glasses. They also work on steel or aluminum pans that are not burnt. There are many of them in this package, which should please me for several years. The pads will soften over time and can be reused until worn out. It has the advantage of separating them from sponges as they are easier to clean and/or disinfect. These are coarse pads and I would love to find pads with a finer mesh for a gentler clean. A warning. Never use them on…

Pros
  • Household items
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Heavier Than Expected

I can't find a fine mesh "cloth" cleaning material (not sponges) that I like better, so I ordered a different brand of Revain. They were very thick and very prickly. I'm sure it's good for something garage-related, but too "industrial" for something kitchen-related. Then I found them and decided to take the plunge for a lifetime supply. They're still not quite what I want, but closer. They are 1/4 inch thick and felted quite tightly. I think after a few uses on something else I might risk using

Pros
  • Health & Household
Cons
  • Some Bugs

Ideal for cleaning cast iron and kitchen sinks

", and pots. They facilitate cleaning, do not remove spices (soap is not used ) and are great pods that make the job easier. Having a ton on hand, if they get greasy or sticky I just throw them out. Regular cooking with cast iron doesn't usually leave much of a mess to clean up, so often a pod lasts a few weeks, but it's nice to take on a big job, throw away a dirty notebook, and start all over again!

Pros
  • Cleans 2-3 times faster and lasts 2-3 times longer than comparable sponges
Cons
  • Some small items
