Cleans aluminum rims

Used them yesterday to clean the inside of my 20 year old polished aluminum rims. Started with 00 wire wool and acetone to remove glue and road tar. Then I used these red pads and soapy water to get rid of all the corrosion and dirt. Finished with a very thin gray pad for extra polish. Looks great. They were all black when I started.

Helps clean floors without taking too much off

I bought these pads to fix my wooden floors. I didn't want to use heavy duty sandpaper because I didn't want to wear the finish down too much, just enough to put another coat of polyurethane on top to keep it looking fresh and shiny. These pads managed to give me enough sand to sand out all the ridges and bumps in the floor without picking up too much of the floor before applying another polyurethane finish.

Pros
  • Niche best
Cons
  • Little things

Industrial strength wipes. The green/spongy ones from the stores have gone from integrated sand to topical surface sand, so they wear out quickly (to maximize profit, don't know). I hope it's old school and will stand up to heavy use. Not as good as I would like for a stainless steel finish, but can be used if you don't mind making your stainless steel look a little rougher. Will be looking for a finer "grain" pad for my thinner stainless steel parts.

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Updates

3M 7447 Scuff Pads are great for titanium bikes

If you have an unpainted titanium bike this is the best way to keep your bike looking new. Effortlessly polish light to medium scratches or transfers with these 7447 pads. A 7447 brake pad will likely last the life of your bike. When using these pads on your titanium bike, be sure to buff in the same direction as the original polish and be careful of decals, painted or etched areas as the pad can remove these.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Scuffs worked like a champ!

I can make things with my own hands and love projects in the garage. I needed pads to paint a trailer. After learning the difference between "green" and "readable" pads, I chose this product for my project. I cut them in half so you can get into tighter corners. They were the perfect thickness and worked very well. After giving them some fat, you'll know when they've run out and it's time for a new pad. I definitely recommend buying them in multiple packs. The delivery was quick on site.

A kitchen/all-purpose favorite!

Although they have a fairly short lifespan, they're great for pots and pans - great for lots of tough cleaning jobs and great root vegetable cleaners. I cut the leaves into four pieces; I use the new ones for carrots and potatoes and also for attacking oops! burned greasy crockery base. When they're worn out, I use them for less demanding cleaning and throw them away when they're old. The texture isn't that different from the green Scotch-Brite pods, but for some reason I prefer the burgundy…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Not all suitable
