Not a good deal for camping and hiking

Well I've had a lot of bad luck with these pots, yes they are small but the thing is my shipping damage and the customer service has always been terrible. I'm trying to keep mine but no it didn't work it's no good they melted badly too after using one it got worse think about what you eat so think about yours health and the health of your family.

Not 2.8L but great idea

I have a 1.5L Optimus pot that I love but need something for a large group. Ordered this to almost double my options. Silicone is filled with 2.0L MAX SAFE FILL (8 cups). Wanted to please but not worth the money for the boring spaciousness. They'll return it and I'll just go with a bigger aluminum pot. Note that my Optimus pot weighs 13.75 ounces and this one only weighs 12 ounces.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Big and bulky

This pot is perfect: Camping cookware

I needed a portable pot that would work with my MSR Pocket Rocket and MSR Flashlight and be backpack friendly. This potty is lightweight and HUGE. I read reviews that the parties have split. I haven't had this problem. However, the instructions state that the flame should not go past the line at the bottom of the pot. I followed this and it worked and held up very well. If you need a large pot that you can go camping with and feed 3-4 people, look no further and order the Sea to Summit X-Pot.

Essential when hiking with a large group!

So happy we bought this! Our group had 2 adults and 2 teenagers for an 11 day 70 mile hike. Limiting the weight of food was crucial and this pot allowed us to pack food for the whole family and cook with one pot, reducing the amount of gas we used to cook and the amount of garbage we dumped had to, limited. It lay well on the surface of the burner and was very easy to clean. We also used the potty as a sink when we needed to wash something thoroughly. We had plenty of extra fuel at the end of…

Good camping pot with careful use

Repurchase to replace one lost to rodents. The mice entered the pocket (hanging from a rope) where the _clean_ x-Pot was kept folded and ripped it to pieces. This may be because the silicone part retains the smell of the food. Be careful, this can be a problem. Good: The aluminum base seems to distribute the heat a bit better than a stainless steel pan of comparable weight/sidewall. The lid serves as a sieve, which is very practical. Cons: Not only was the lid edible, but it was a bit cracked…

Transfers heat well and is easy to clean.

Used it on a 4 day trip to Colorado with a 3000 BTU burner. You can use it to prepare practically anything that contains liquid. I've made rehydrated chicken chili, rehydrated spaghetti, and rehydrated bean taco meat. The downside is that the pan isn't really non-stick and it easily gets too hot in the middle. You have to keep the heat low so the food doesn't stick, and you have to stir almost constantly to keep a thick crust from forming on the bottom. However, this pan is incredibly…

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons

Let me start by saying that the concept is fantastic and this pan is great in really controlled situations. But even if you keep the flame on the silicone sides, you can still melt them by heating the aluminum base. I was very careful to keep the flame on my stove low while melting snow for water in the mountains, and I was still melting the silicone off the aluminum base. My little oven was turned halfway upside down, but that was probably enough to warp the floor metal and silicone where it…

Very good pot for 2+ people

I took this pot on a 3 week camping trip and a 3 month bike trip. It is very durable; In all the time I've used it it has never deteriorated from brand new condition. Foldable plastic is extremely useful as flat items are usually much easier to store than large cylinders. The advantage of collapsing is that you can collapse it during boiling to reduce the internal volume, which will boil the water faster. I recommend this pan for use in groups of 2-3 people. It's certainly a bit bigger and…

Excellent when used correctly.

Additional comments: My biggest problem with S2S is that I think they are in a rush to get these things into production before fully testing them in the field. There are recurring issues, most of which are silly complaints like "raised writing that's difficult to clean," but a few, "lids cracking" and "some pots retain the smell of food," are the most common and should be addressed. My biggest complaint with S2S customers is that they scold the product and then whine about how it melted when…
